Review #859 (2021)
This Texan corn whisky, is made from roasted blue corn. Vanilla and a lot of citrusy notes in the smell. It is not hiding its youthfulness… A bit of winter spices in the background.
Full of flavour in the taste. White fruits, tropical fruits, lemons and candy sweetness. The finish is actually quite long. Not very flavourful, but the sweet corn stays for quite a while, again with the winter spices in the background.
I’m not a fan, but it was fun to try. And keep in mind – it is what it is, a young corn whisky! Definitely one of the better corn whiskies I have had, but the category just isn’t my favourite (yet)… I will give this 79/100 (18/21/20/20).
