Review #628
The Solist series has already become famous, and the Sherry casks are true Sherry bombs. A thick wall of dried fruits is the first that hits your nose. Prunes and dates with some dried apricot sweetness.
Definitely a wall of dried fruits again in the taste. Some oak and tannins as well. Not very sweet, and the sweetness you get, comes in the finish from the dried fruits. The thickness you feel from the oils just covers your mouth and it stays for quite a while!
If you are into heavily sherried drams, where it is the heavy dried fruits there are in focus, and not the sweetness, this could be you! I could miss some of the complexity and balance a bit of sweetness could bring to the table. Still very good though! I will give this 88/100 (22/22/22/22).
