Review #725 (2018)
This is from the ”Exclusive Casks” series from Creative Whisky Company. This is a single cask (#3080), with a Gaja (Barolo) finish. Light white fruits, vanilla and gentle oak in the smell. A mix of oranges, cloves and dried fruits as well.
Oak, dates and prunes in the taste. Old soaky oak (if that makes sense). A bit salty as well. Some berries mixes with the oak in the finish. The dried fruits gets a bit sweeter, and that is what you are left with.
This is a fine dram. Elegant, yet full of fruity flavours. But the highlight of this whisky is the complexity and the balance. In some points, its old and elegant, and in others, young and feisty (not young-young though). I will give this 89/100 (22/22/22/23).
