Review #254 (2016)
This whisky is finished in Pedro Ximenez Sherry Casks. If you know the difference, flavor wise, between Oloroso and PX casks, this is the first thing you will notice here in the smell. The next thing you will notice is the malty notes. It seems very young.
A bit spicy at first in the taste with some oaky notes as well. I get a lot of honey and some vanilla with only hints of dried fruit. The finish is medium long and very sweet with the fruity notes in the background.
I think we are talking about a very short finish here. I don’t get much impact from the sherry casks, and I think that the whisky in general suffers from being too young. I will give this 79/100 (19/19/21/20).
