This is from the “Small Batch” series and comes from 1st fill Bourbon barrels, with the numbers #817984 – 817987. 1444 bottles were made. Some burned oak and vanilla in the smell. Plums and apples as well. Light citrus in the background.
Quite flavourful in the taste. It’s only 8 years old, but the oak is coming through alongside some apples and hints of dried fruits. It is young, but the finish is medium to long. A bit of sugary sweetness is mixing in.
Not all, but many of these young whiskies bottled by James Eadie is from really good casks, and it is just refreshing to see age statement whiskies under 10 years that is really good! I will give this 83/100 (20/21/21/21).
