Review #276 (2016)
This is the new label bottling and it is a mixture of Bourbon and Sherry casks. Light peat is the first thing that hits my nose. Behind it, some dried fruits is hiding. Raisins in particular with just a hint of orange. Put a lid on the glass and give it 10 minutes! Delicious!
A bit watery in the taste considering how full of flavors it has in the smell. The flavors you get are great though. Plums, oak and vanilla. The dried fruits really comes forward in the finish with a spicy touch at the end. It got smoke, not peat, all the way through.
This is not a cheap 10 year old (and not that expensive either), but the quality makes up for it. I can´t quite figure out if I maybe scored this a point a two too low… I will give this 84/100 (21/20/22/21).
