Review #908 (2022)
In this series, the expressions will only have matured in one style of cask. In this expression, we are having a look at the Bourbon casks from Cotswolds. Heavy vanilla (and alcohol, so don’t get your nose too close) in the smell. White fruits, some grassy notes and a bit of hay.
A great mouthfeel, and it is very flavourful in the taste. Vanilla, white fruits and a bit of citrus. The finish is long and warm, with the flavours from taste, nice and easy lingering out.
Good to taste a Cotswolds that is matured solely in ex-Bourbon casks. A very flavourful spirit, and I am sure that with some more age and elegance, this will be a great distillery. I will give this 84/100 (21/21/21/21).
