Review #904 (2022)
This is a Highland single malt, finished in Port casks. Fresh white fruits in the smell. Crisp green apples with a touch of raisins and just a hint of spices.
Very spicy at first in the taste. A bit of oak and dried apricots. The finish is sweet with vanilla and the sweetness from the dried fruits joining the spiciness.
This is a steady dram, and the Port finish is very noticeable, and not just done to be able to write “Port” on the bottle. I actually think this could be quite the great and heavy Port whisky, if it was bottled at a higher ABV! I will give this 84/100 (21/21/21/21).
