Review #890 (2022)
This is bottled exclusively for Denmark, and matured in a first fill Sherry butt, with the cask number #218. It’s only a part of that cask, as the other part is bottled at cask strength, in a bottling for the Signatory Cask Strength Collection series. Dried fruits, red grapes, caramel and a bit of mint in the smell.
Loads of dried fruits in the taste, yet it is still quite fresh. Oak, spices and just a hint of some floral notes. Some sweetness starts to appear in the finish, and it goes great with the dried fruits and spices. Quite a long finish for a 46% whisky.
Quite a heavy Sherry whisky, for a 46% bottling. A great affordable bottling by Signatory, where you get a heavy Sherry whisky that is still quite fresh. I think I need a bottle of this on the shelf! I will give this 86/100 (21/21/22/22).
