Review #887 (2022)
This is matured only in first fill Sherry seasoned casks, and bottled at a strength, selected by their Master Whisky Maker. Nice deep Sherry notes and Bourbon vanilla ice cream in the smell. Oak spices joins the party in the most elegant way.
Dried fruits – raisins in particular – and oak spices in the taste. Peppery notes with a dash of cinnamon and orange – still with a bit of vanilla in the background. The oak really comes forward in the finish, which is a great addition to the dried fruits that stays behind.
Looking at price vs quality, this is just fantastic! I wouldn’t have been surprised if the price had been the double than what it is (I know many whiskies in this price range that can’t compete with this!). Luckily this isn’t hyped (yet), thus a fair price! I will give this 90/100 (23/22/22/23).
