Review #842 (2021)
This is the first release of Triple Distilled whisky from Glasgow Distillery. It is fully matured in virgin oak casks. Sweat over ripe pears on the nose. Cherries and vanilla. After a couple of minutes, some nutty notes comes forward.
A bit more youthful in the taste. Malted barley and spices. A bit of herbs as well. The finish is medium long, and it is mostly the virgin oak influence that is left behind. Quite oaky in the end.
The smell is the most attractive part of this whisky. The taste couldn’t quite follow, and the finish were a bit too simple and oaky for me. It’s not bad, and I am still really curious about what we can expect from Glasgow Distillery in the future. I will give this 81/100 (22/20/20/19).
