Review #714 (2018)
This is from the “Single Cask” series and comes from a refill Sherry cask, with the number #99. 529 bottles were made. A marzipan bomb in the smell. You don’t really sense the high ABV. A mix of white and tropical fruits are coming through with a dash of lime in the background.
Again some tropical fruits in the taste, but also some tannins. Oak and dried apricots. The finish is long. At first it’s the tropical fruits, with some dried fruits added, but in the end you are left with some oak and sugary sweetness.
Nothing spectacular, but a good steady cask strength single cask from Blair Athol. Especially the finish is what gives it a little extra. I will give this 85/100 (21/21/22/21).
