Review #883
This is a Glenrothes single malt, finished in PX Sherry casks (Butt #1623-24-25) for 20 months. Fantastic dry Sherry influence in the smell. Sweetness from the dried fruits mixed in a vanilla blanket.
Full of flavours and intensity, even though it is “only” 46%. Loads of spices in the taste. It is still dry, with raisins, almonds and dates. The finish is a great mix of dry oak, spices and some fruity sweetness.
A fantastic 10 year old whisky from start till the very end. A dry, sweet Sherry influenced Speyside whisky – what’s not to like?? And I can imagine this is so many situations – with a good cigar, a pilsner, to accompany a dessert or coffee and many other things! I will give this 88/100 (22/22/22/22).
