Review #36 (2014)
This 12 year old is from Knockdhu Distillery, which means ”Black Hill”. The smell is very weak but you can find some notes of sweet barley, lemongrass, citrus, grass and floral.
The taste is a little like new make spirit, petroleum and some hints of sweets. The finish is the highlight of this whisky with some citrus, caramel and fudge.
It is not a very complex whisky and the balance is bit funny (or strange). This would definitely be much more exciting at 43 or 46%, and I will recommend that you don´t use water in this whisky. A fine but bit boring whisky. I will give this whisky 80/100 (19/20/21/20).
