Review #856 (2021)
This is matured in 1st fill ex-Bourbon & 1st fill Wine (STR barrique) casks. Loads of white fruits and vanilla in the smell at first. Some oak and sourness comes forward. New make notes in the background.
The oak comes a bit more forward in the taste, alongside some floral notes. The barley is quite noticeable and some grassy notes appears as well. The finish is mild but warm, with the white fruits and floral notes staying behind.
A true Lowland malt. It has a lot of potential, but still quite young. Luckily it is bottled at 46%, which make this a decent dram, instead of a forgettable rendezvous. Great balance though, and I bet that the people that have put this together, have thought about what they were doing! I will give this 79/100 (19/19/20/21).
