Review #789 (2019)
This is matured in ex-Tennessee 1st fill barrels – formerly containing George Dickel. Seems quite young tho. Notes of new make and crisp white fruits in the smell. Loads of citrusy notes as well.
Again, loads of new make, with citrusy notes and apples in the taste. Not too strong considering the 50%. The finish doesn’t change too much from the taste, but the citrusy notes dominates, with malted barley on the side and a little burned caramel in the background.
This is just too undermatured for my liking… I don’t think there is anything wrong with the spirit, so older/longer maturation time, could possibly do wonders for this. Thankfully, they bottled it at 50%. I will give this 75/100 (18/19/19/19).
