Review #903 (2022)
This is a Speyside single malt, finished in Sauternes casks. Loads of marzipan in the smell. Some baked green apples and pears as well.
Nuts and dark fruity notes in the taste. Would go perfect with a piece of chocolate! The oak comes a bit forward in the finish, and again I’m getting these baked fruits. Dry, with a touch of spices.
A great dram, but perhaps a bit simple… The flavour profile from the smell to the finish is quite alike, and I could do with some more complexity. I will give this 83/100 (21/21/21/20).
