Review #785 (2019)
From Cadenhead´s comes this single cask from a Bourbon barrel bottled at cask strength. Only 258 bottles were made. Sweet ripe white fruits and a little burned oak in the smell. Grain and caramel in the background.
After the initial alcohol burn, sugars come rushing in. Burned caramel and canned peaches in the taste. Sweet vanilla and oak in the finish. It stays for quite a while, and it´s just an absolute pleasure! Oak spices joins the sugary sweetness.
The smell was fine, but nothing spectacular, so I didn’t expect that much – safe to say I was in for a surprise! Great taste and a fantastic finish! This makes it an overall, very fine whisky. I will give this 88/100 (21/22/23/22).
