Review #42 (2014)
High up north on the Orkney Islands you will find Scapa Distillery. From the smell it is clear that it is located next to the ocean. It is fresh, like light ocean breeze, some caramel and lemon notes.
The taste is slightly salty a very citrusy. The finish is just the citrus stretching out, but in the end some honey, orange peels and slightly burned wood appears.
The balance is fine, but it is not that complex and to be honest a bit boring. But all in all it is a fine whisky, and a dram I would love to drink on a boat. I will give this whisky 85/100 (21/21/22/21).
