Review #899 (2022)
This is matured, solely in European Oloroso Sherry casks. Honey and dried fruits in the smell. Oak, oak spices and a bit of tannins as well.
A bit more dried fruits comes forward in the taste. Oak and spices, but no tannins here in the taste. The finish is medium long, with a bit of acidity/citrusy notes and sweetness to give it a great balance.
The Sherry Oak range is more heavy and not as elegant as the Double Cask series. Still a great balance though! Try it with the 12 year old Double Cask – it is very interesting to see what the different types of oak brings to the table. I will give this 85/100 (21/22/21/21).
