Review #878
This is finished in first fill PX Sherry casks (Butt #131-133) for 12 months. Spicy malted barley in the smell. Hints of dried fruits and baked apples (like apple pie, but without the sweetness).
Loads of spices at first, in the taste. The dried fruits are a bit more noticeable here, but still not dominant. Some white fruits as well – apples and pears. The finish is dry, with the spices lasting the longest.
With a PX finish, I was expecting something quite different. PX casks normally brings loads of sweetness, but this is much more dry and spicy. Still a fine dram though, with a very fair price tag (around €60). I will give this 84/100 (21/21/21/21).
