Review #862 (2022)
Bottled for Juuls in Denmark, from a Bourbon Hogshead, with the cask number #2780. Only 245 bottles were made. Mellow with Ardbeg ash in the smell. Baked white fruits and oak. A bit of spices in the back.
Dry oak and peat in the taste. Sweet vanilla and citrusy notes – however, NOT in the youthful kind of way! The ashy notes comes forward in the finish, which is very long. Some chocolate mixes with some spices as well.
This is just a Bourbon matured beauty! The age really mellows the spirit and the peat, but the peat is still quite noticeable. The balance is great, and you just get carried away from the smell to the finish. I will give this 93/100 (23/23/24/23).
