Review #1 (2014)
Sitting in the sun and pop the cork of my Auchentoshan 12 yo. The smell of lemon grass is the first to hit my nose. Nuts and oak comes as well. Just like standing in the boundary of a forest and a meadow.
The taste is smooth- First nuts, and a hint of dried fruits. Especially raisins. The oak influence is consistently all the way to the finish. Definitely a whisky where you get value for your money.
I don´t think that water does much for this whisky. It just takes the ABV further down, and its already down at 40 %. I would love to try this whisky at 43, or even better, 46 %. I will rate this 84/100 (20/22/21/21).
