Review #845 (2021)
This is the third release from Ardnamurchan. It is bottled in 2021 and consist of 50/50 peated and unpeated spirit, 65/35 Bourbon and Sherry casks, and 17.502 bottles were made. White fruits and gentle peat in the smell. Fresh cut grass and honey.
First impression is very mild, considering that it is almost 47%. The taste is more or less a repetition of the smell. Even though the taste is mild, it actually stays for quite a bit in the finish. Here, the warming gentle peat is in focus.
The balance is great, and it is amazing just how much they are getting out of this young whisky. I wish the taste were a bit more flavourful – that would have given this whisky a notch up the rating ladder! I will give this 84/100 (21/20/21/22).
