Review #834 (2020)
This is an unpeated single malt from Paul John Distillery. Created from Indian barley and matured in charred American oak. A bit of sour oak in the smell. Malt and slight hints of hay.
Malt, oak and some rough grassy notes in the taste. Some honey in the finish, alongside the oak that gets more dominant. Quite enjoyable in the finish.
A fine starter. Not very complex, but a good example of how young Indian whisky have loads of flavours, even though the time spent in the casks are limited. I will give this 80/100 (19/20/21/20).
