And it\u2019s no ordinary Port casks, but 50 liter casks, build with a mix of staves from Ruby <strong><em>and<\/em><\/strong> Tawny Port! Only 400 bottles were made in this batch. Hazelnuts, ripe plums and dried fruits in <strong>the smell<\/strong>. A bit of oak spices and berries in the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Raisins and a bit of tobacco in <strong>the taste<\/strong>. Fine balance of sweetness as well. Some dried fruits, but actually not as dominant as you would think. Grapes \u2013 almost like young Armagnac \u2013 in <strong>the finish<\/strong>. Some dark chocolate and burned oak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I feel like having an old Tawny Port right now, so something is right about this whisky! A great whisky that could be great for many occasions \u2013 alongside a beer, with a good cigar, with a big steak, etc (I don\u2019t have to say neat, do I?).
